FUN HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES FOR THE FAMILY

Holiday time means family time and this season we’re giving out great ideas for how to make the most of every minute.

TIP #1
Bake a Batch of Cookies

Nothing is more fun or rewarding as baking cookies in the kitchen. No matter what age your kids are, it’s never too early (or late) to share your secret family recipe with someone special.

TIP #2
Go Caroling

Spread the holiday cheer with the neighborhood by taking family and friends out for an evening of caroling. Find 10 songs or so that you’d like to perform and print off copies of the lyrics for each member of the group. Then invite people over afterwards to enjoy those cookies you just baked.

TIP #3
Make Holiday Cards

Hallmark’s got nothing on an original family creation. Break out the art supplies and get crafty making personalized holiday cards to send to friends and family.

TIP #4
Plan a Meal

Let everyone help plan the big meal this year. Gather the family around a table with as many recipe books as you can get and, if you have one, bring a laptop for a web search. Then compile a list of recipes that each person has picked out and make a holiday menu.

TIP #5
Help Others

There are lots of opportunities for your family to help others during the holidays. You could volunteer at a local soup kitchen, donate to a charitable organization, or deliver a meal to a family in need. Every little bit of help can make a big difference.

TIP #6
Decorate your House

Find fun ways to make your home feel festive. String lights, hang ornaments and wreaths, make a snowman if it’s possible. Crank up your favorite holiday tunes and get the whole family involved.

TIP #7
Take a Funny Family Photo

Have your family shop in different family member’s closets to create some wacky outfits for a funny holiday photo shoot. Use these photos to make a humorous holiday card or simply to make memories that the whole family will be laughing at for ages.

TIP #8
Watch a Movie

Treat the family to a new holiday release on the big screen. Or if you’re too exhausted from doing all the previous activities, just rent a holiday classic, throw a log on the fire, microwave some popcorn and relax with your loved ones.
